Document control built for refinery turnarounds — welds, NDE, heat treatment, flange joints, blinds, vessel entries and test packages, all recorded against the system they belong to and compiled into a turnover package that survives review.
Turnaround handover fails on the same things every time: a blind list where the installs are written down and the removals are remembered, a joint recorded as “torqued” with no gasket, no lubricant and no calibrated tool behind it, a weld whose welder’s continuity had lapsed and nobody checked the date it was made, a witness point signed off after the joint was insulated, and a hydro passed on a gauge that expired last month. None of that is caught by better filing. It is caught by recording the reading and the thing that makes the reading mean something in the same place, at the same time. That is the whole design here — built for the crew that has to hand a unit back at 0400 on day twenty-eight, not retrofitted from generic maintenance software.
Every weld, joint, blind and test recorded against the system it belongs to — so traceability is a query, not a night shift spent digging through a shipping container of paper.
Every weld against its iso, its WPS and the welder who ran the root, dated to the day the arc struck — because continuity, WPS revision and the heat treatment window are all judged at that date and not at today’s. Repairs are their own record, so the repair rate is a number you can hand over.
Method, extent and acceptance criteria beside the result, with the technician’s level and certification expiry on the same sheet. Hold and witness points carry when the party was notified as well as whether they came — a witness point signed after the joint was covered is not a witness point.
Install and removal are two signatures, and a blind stays open until somebody has signed for pulling it. The tag number hung on the flange is on the record, so the list can be counted against the board before start-up rather than believed.
Gasket type, spec and lot, bolt spec, lubricant, method and final pass, with the calibrated tool that produced it. Broken by and made up by are separate fields, because they are separate people on separate shifts.
Soak temperature and time, ramp rates, thermocouple count and the chart number the cycle is evidenced by — with the post-PWHT hardness readings in the weld, the HAZ and the base metal against the limit that governs.
What the spec called for against what the analyser found, tied back to the heat number and the MTR. A carbon steel elbow in an alloy line looks exactly like the right elbow and passes every weld inspection.
Welder WPQs with their continuity dates, NDE certifications with the vision exam tracked separately, and every gauge, torque tool and analyser that produced a reading. An out-of-cal instrument invalidates every record it produced, so the audit treats it as blocking.
Root cause, disposition and corrective action per NCR through to closure, with how many joints it reaches and which code clause was missed — each printing as its own summary sheet.
Everything logged during the outage compiles into the handover package, system by system — no re-typing, no chasing paperwork on the shift it is due.
A turnaround is several hundred jobs sharing one outage window. Everything here is organised by system, because the system is what gets tested, walked down, punched and handed back.
Packages built against a system, with whether the welds, NDE and heat treatment behind them are actually finished — then the test itself, two calibrated gauges, hold time, temperatures and the witness who signed.
Blinds out, joints made up, valves positioned, temporaries pulled, PSVs back in — each a separate count, because each is a separate way a system goes back into service wrong. Then the MC certificate, with its A, B and C punch counts printed on it.
Draw a field iso on the deck with weld and component callouts, or redline a P&ID, a vessel drawing or a vendor print — multi-page PDF markup with a draggable, colour-coded tag tool.
One click compiles every section into a cover-paged, indexed document on true letter pages — print to PDF, or export with attachments merged in.
Every table exports to Excel-ready CSV, and the weld log, iso register, joint list, blind list and work list import from one — because on a turnaround all five exist in a planner’s spreadsheet weeks before anybody is on site.
Expiring qualifications, instruments out of calibration, open non-conformances and missing test reports surface while there is still time to fix them.
Every gap that would fail a turnover review — blinds still in line, hold points not released, expired qualifications, instruments out of calibration, open NCRs, weld repairs never re-examined — with a printable report.
WPS, PQR, NDE, PWHT, bolting and test procedures tracked by revision, each naming the code that governs it. A turnaround runs B31.3, Section VIII, Section IX, NBIC and API 510 at once, and which one applies decides the acceptance criteria.
Confined space entry, line break, hot work, blinding, radiography and critical lift permits, with gas test results and expiry tracking.
Per-person rights to create and delete, with read-only auditor seats for owners and third-party inspectors — free, however many you invite.
Entry and internal inspection with the damage mechanism named, tray levelness, bundle plugging against the limit, thickness by CML with its previous reading beside it, and relief valves with the as-found pop recorded.
Items categorised by what blocks start-up, what blocks turnover and what can follow the unit coming back up — closed out with an automatic sign-off stamp, shareable as a read-only link, with RFIs tracked to a response.
Real feedback from real users — every submission is reviewed before it goes live.
Every plan includes every feature. No tab is locked behind a tier — a one-person QA/QC consultancy gets the same document control as a contractor with four hundred people on a major.
AI document reading is billed separately as prepaid credits — $25 for 100 document reads, so you only pay for what you use. Everything else is included.
The user guide lives inside the app; everything else here is published and free. Nothing is gated behind a sales call, and nothing is listed before it exists.
The full feature map, step-by-step walkthroughs for logging a weld, running the blind list, getting a test package through its hydro and turning a system over, plus a troubleshooting section. Generated from the app itself, so it cannot drift out of date. Printable to PDF.
Read the guide →Sixteen sheets — weld log, NDE report, heat treatment record, PMI record, pressure test report, flange joint assembly record, blind list, vessel entry and internal inspection, mechanical completion certificate, NCR, RFI, punch list, JSA, daily report, crew timesheet and turnaround schedule. Free and ungated, printable as they are or stamped with your own company header from inside the app.
Get the forms →Every section of a complete turnover package walked through on one real crude unit turnaround, and the cross-checks that get a package sent back — an instrument out of calibration on the day it produced a reading, a weld repair never re-examined, a blind signed in and never signed out.
Read the walkthrough →Which code governs what across a turnaround — ASME B31.3, Section VIII, Section IX, NBIC and API 510, 570 and 653 — what each NDE method finds and misses, and what has to be on a record for it to be evidence. Summaries of what a code requires you to record, never its text.
Read the reference →Practical write-ups: why the blind that went in always gets written down and the one that came out gets remembered, why a joint recorded as “torqued” tells you nothing, why continuity is judged at the date of the weld, and what an owner’s audit actually looks at.
Read the notes →What changed and when — so you can see whether this is still being worked on before you depend on it.
Read the notes →The blank form pack is ready now, free and ungated — weld log, NDE report, heat treatment record, PMI record, pressure test report, flange joint assembly record, blind list, vessel entry, mechanical completion certificate, NCR, RFI, punch list, JSA, daily report, crew timesheet and turnaround schedule. Plus the spec quick reference, the field notes, and a walkthrough of what goes in a turnover package. Leave an address and we’ll tell you when the next one lands.

No. Turnaround QC runs in a browser — desktop, tablet, or phone. There is nothing to install, no IT ticket, and no server to maintain.
Yes. The tabs that arrive as a spreadsheet — the work list, systems, isometrics, the weld log, flange joints, the blind list, the equipment register and thickness readings — take a CSV straight off the planner’s workbook, and every tab has a Download template so you can see the columns first. Save as CSV from Excel; column order does not matter, unrecognised columns are ignored, and nothing is written until you have seen exactly what will be created. Drawings, certificates and reports upload as PDFs or photos, and AI pre-fill can read a scanned certificate and fill the form for you to check.
No. Turnaround QC covers the whole outage — field piping, vessels and static equipment, exchangers, bolting, testing and turnover — because a turnaround is a mix rather than a discipline. Most jobs are heavy on some of it and touch none of the rest. Use the tabs your scope needs and ignore the others; empty sections are simply left out of the job book.
Only you and the people you invite. Access is enforced by the database itself, not by hiding buttons — a user with no relationship to a project cannot read or write to it even through the API.
Yes, at any time and without asking us. Every table exports to CSV, and Save Snapshot downloads every record in a project as a single timestamped file you own outright, independent of the app or your account.
Worth taking one at project milestones regardless.
Your records remain available for a retention period after cancellation so you can export anything you need, and Save Snapshot works right up to the end. Take a snapshot before you cancel and you keep a complete copy whatever happens.
No. AI is only involved when you explicitly choose Read from document, and then only to fill that one form. Your records are not used to train anything.
No, and be wary of anything that claims otherwise. Turnaround QC organises, tracks, and compiles your records so nothing goes missing and gaps surface early. Whether the work meets code is determined by your procedures, your inspectors, and the governing specification — not by software.
It reads them and fills in the form; it does not verify or approve anything. You confirm every value before it saves. We deliberately do not have software assert that a certificate is valid — that judgement belongs to a qualified person, and a QA/QC record is a legal document.
Yes. Invite them as an auditor and they can read and export everything but change nothing — enforced in the database. Auditor seats are free, however many you invite.
Yes. Records can be entered and photos attached from a tablet or phone in the field, which is where most test results are actually written down.
Turnaround QC needs a connection to save records. Inside a unit, take photos and write readings down as normal and enter them when you are back in range. Nothing is lost that way, but nothing saves offline either — so a shift’s worth of records still has to be entered somewhere with coverage.
Anyone who has accepted an invitation to your company account. Pending invitations are never charged, and read-only auditor seats are always free.
Remove them and the seat is credited back, prorated. Adding someone mid-month is charged the same way.
Yes, from Billing in the app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for — you keep full access until then and are not charged again.
Full terms are in our refund and cancellation policy.
Never. Payment pages are hosted by Stripe; nothing sensitive touches Turnaround QC.
The software most contractors are offered is either a spreadsheet with ambitions or an enterprise platform priced for the owner rather than the people doing the work. Turnaround QC is built for the small and mid-size mechanical contractor in between — the crews who have to hand back the same defensible documentation on the same schedule, with a fraction of the overhead.
Every feature here exists because it was needed on a job, not because it demoed well. The blank forms are the ones crews already fill in by hand. The job book prints as a binder — cover, spine labels, tabbed dividers, index — because that is how a turnover package is actually handed over.
What it will not do is decide anything for you. It reads a document; it does not approve one. It records a classification; it does not pick one. Whether a certificate is acceptable, or a non-conformance is major, stays your call and stays on your record.
Questions about whether Turnaround QC fits your scope, a walkthrough for your crew, or enterprise terms — get in touch and you will speak to the people who build it, not a sales desk.
